Miss RWM contestants arrive from Singapore; online voting heats up
Fresh from their photoshoot and a day tour in Universal Studios in Singapore, the candidates of Miss Resorts World Manila 2011 are now back in Manila, readying themselves for the Coronation Night this Saturday, August 27, at the Newport Performing Arts Theater.
As the Singapore trip culminated a busy week of activities for the candidates, the remaining 6 days leading to the pageant are reserved for their rehearsals and an opportunity for them to campaign for online votes. As of Monday, August 22, 11,050 votes were casted for Miss Resorts World Manila 2011 People’s Choice and with the trending, it is still anybody’s ball game.

Leading the People’s Choice tally is 19 year-old Aina Tachiyama. Aina registered 1,462 votes, comprising 13.23% of the total number of votes. Very close at second is Reina Maerina with 1,363 votes, representing 12.33%. Fans of other finalists, however, still have ample time to get their favorites to the top position. Online voting closes 5 days from now, by 12 noon of August 26.

Meanwhile, the whirlwind activities for Miss Resorts World Manila 2011 started with the Swimsuit Night and Media Presentation held at The Plaza- Newport Mall last August 15. In a full-packed venue of screaming fans and members of the media, the Top 5 for Best In Swimsuit were named. Getting a head start in the competition are Ann Goldie Laconsay, Ladylyn Riva, Monica Rae Limlengco, Jenny Panganiban and Angelie Twigg. Princess Angela Abella, on the other hand, was named Darling of the Press.
The ladies continued on with the competition by presenting their talents the next day. The Butler contest and the Talent Night on August 16 proved furthermore that these ladies are beyond beauty and body. They have exceptional talent and skills too! Finishing in the top three of the Talent competition are Monica Rae Limlengco and Laurice Venice Trasmano. Winning P20,000 gift certificate as Best in Talent is Angela Luz Abuallata who sang a soulful rendition of the Christina Aguilera original “Hurt”.

Fostering friendship amongst the finalists, a race around Resorts World Manila was held on August 17. Ann Goldie Lanconsay found the golden chip and won for herself some special prizes. The next day, the ladies were also given some sales training as they were asked to sell tickets for the upcoming local production of "The Sound of Music". After all, the next ambassadress's role is to promote Resorts World Manila and its events.
On August 19, the ladies flew to Singapore where they had another set of photoshoots at Star Cruises Center in Sentosa. The ladies also enjoyed their day trip at Universal Studios on August 20, one of the perks of being a finalist of a beauty pageant aiming to promote a world-class destination.
For sure these activities provided life-changing experiences for the girls and memories worth to cherish as they move one step closer of being Miss Resorts World Manila 2011.
