VIPs, celebrities pour in as Genting Club opens

The entire cityscape's most exclusive leisure destination opened in a dazzling two-day event at Maxims Tower last June 17 and 18, 2011. A members-only club with liquor bars, a cigar room, a sports bar, restaurants, an entertainment area, and a spa, Genting Club finally opened its doors to Manila's who's who.

The city's high rollers, together with sports superstars Rafael “Paeng” Nepomuceno, Efren “Bata” Reyes and Fransisco “Django” Bustamante competed at the Stars and Cards: Celebrity Poker Challenge held during Genting Club's grand launch.

Celebrity poker match participants included model and actor Guji Lorenzana, basketball star Jason Webb, TV and print ad model Eric Tai, Miss Earth 2004 and model Priscilla Meirelles- Estrada, and actress Isabel Granada, among others.

Model and actor Derek Ramsay also took on a friendly billiards match with Reyes, known as The Magician.

Aside from the glitz, Genting Club's opening also celebrated social responsibility as proceeds of the celebrity poker tournament will be given to selected charities.

Simultaneously opened were George’s Cigar & Malt Cellar, offering the finest cigars from around the world; 007 Martini Bar, boasting exquisite martinis and cocktails; and Rat Pack, which on the other hand, will be the gold standard for whiskey lovers. Specifically designed for sports enthusiasts, Paqman Sportsbar is an action-packed venue featuring sport’s greatest moments.

Genting Club also offers gastronomic delights to satisfy diverse cravings. Impressions specializes in continental fusion cuisine while Mujou, Kimchi, and Happy 9 are for lovers of Japanese, Korean and Chinese food.

Members can enjoy live music and entertainment at Taps or indulge in a luxurious massage at M Spa, to complete the Genting Club experience.
