Easter Eggxhibit, La Flora De Mayo showcase the beauty of giving back
There's still half a year to go before Christmas but Resorts World Manila is already celebrating the spirit of giving with the Easter Eggxhibit awarding ceremonies and La Flora de Mayo, both of which were held last May 28, 2011 at The Plaza, Newport Mall.
Ten local celebrities – Alyanna Martinez, Angelica Panganiban, Cecile Van Straten, Divine Lee, Hideo Muraoka, Joey Mead, Rajo Laurel, Tessa Prieto-Valdes, Tim Yap and Will Devaughn – designed larger-than-life Easter eggs which were displayed from April 10 to May 12 at the Eastwood Mall and Newport Mall. Voting for the best Easter egg design was made through the Facebook accounts of both malls. The top three designs with the most “likes” were awarded cash prizes, of which the proceeds go to the chosen charities of the winning celebrities.

Cecile Van Straten’s homage to strong, beautiful mothers everywhere emerged as the 2nd runner up, winning P50,000 for the blogger’s chosen beneficiary, the Missionary Sisters of Lipa.
Realtor Divine Lee’s Lego and sequin wonder was declared 1st runner up, winning P75,000 for Child Haus.
With 8,872 votes, Tim Yap’s nostalgic tribute to long-forgotten childhood toys won the top prize: P150,000, which will go to the Virlanie Foundation.
The festive and generous mood continued with La Flora De Mayo, RWM’s take on a time-honored Filipino tradition, Flores de Mayo. Gorgeous finalists and winners of Miss Philippines-Earth and Miss Resorts World Manila toured the complex in stylish and elegant ternos and offered flowers to the Virgin Mary.

The ladies are beauties with a cause: they are ambassadors of Carousel Foundation, which creates and supports projects that aim to foster environmental preservation and care for Mother Earth, especially against the dangers of climate change and global warming.
A staunch supporter of environmental advocacies, Megaworld Lifestyle Centers and Resorts World Manila presented a P100,000 donation to the Carousel Foundation, a fitting finale to an evening that has touched lives.
