ERDA, Hospicio de San Jose and Pasay City kids mesmerized by KAOS

As an early Christmas treat, Resorts World Manila has invited close to 300 children from Hospicio de San Jose, Educational Research and Development Assistance (ERDA) Foundation and Pasay City, courtesy of Mayor Antonio Calixto to watch the KAOS last Sunday, November 28, 2010 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater.

Will KAOS, Resorts World Manila’s first-ever musical spectacle, pass the test of the most discriminating audience there is – the children?

A production unlike anything the country has ever seen, KAOS is the story of a prince from the past (Gian Magdangal) who falls in love with a lovely maiden from the future (Martha Joy). True love prevails as the two overcome the plans of a scheming advisor (Joel Trinidad).

With colorful costumes, fantastic 3D set pieces, amazing stunts, choreography, music and magic, KAOS is an enchanting modern-day fairy tale brought to life. What’s more, the kids will be amazed to watch master illusionist Enrique Polo’s menagerie of animals – Betty the yellow tiger, Sito the white tiger and Kaos the white lion, also a key character in the story.
The verdict? The children – together with their teachers and guardians – gave KAOS two thumbs up.

Hospicio de San Jose is a Catholic welfare institution and a home of orphans, abandoned and special children and elderly people. It was founded in 1810 and is the oldest charitable institution in the Philippines.  It is cared for by the Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul.

Established in 1974, ERDA Foundation (or ERDA) is a human development organization that aims to provide educational assistance to children of poor families so that they can finish an elementary education. It runs community-based preschool classes to help prepare poor preschoolers for elementary school. To complement its educational programs in the Metro Manila area, ERDA runs community-based livelihood and health programs, and a continuing education program which provides values formation and leadership training.
Loot bags from Resorts World Manila and yummy hamburgers and gift certificates from McDonald’s awaited the kids after the show.

Mr. Boh Tuan Siang gave a Php1M gift to Hospicio de San Jose, which will go a long way in hospice’s operations.

KAOS will be showing at the Newport Performing Arts Theater this December. Click here for ticket reservations and other information.
