All Roads Lead to RWM for APT Philippines 2010
Resorts World Manila is abuzz with activity and excitement, with the Asian Poker Tour Philippines 2010 just a few days away.
To be held from August 23 to 29, the region’s most prestigious poker tournament will showcase changes in the event structure, a new tournament director, and a new venue – one of Resorts World Manila’s luxurious casino floors.
Kicking off APT Philippines 2010 is the Celebrity Charity Challenge, which will take place on August 23. The main event starts on August 25 and will feature two starting days, a Day 2, a Day 3, and the final table on the last day of APT Philippines 2010. Buy-in is set at US $2,500 + US $200.
Confirming his attendance is none other than poker legend Johnny Chan, a back-to-back WSOP main event winner and the proud owner of ten career bracelets. Also to watch out for are members of The Poker Pack such as JC Tran, Nam Le, and Quinn Do.
Asia’s gaming capital is well represented. Macau greats like APT Macau high-roller champion David Steicke, reigning APPT Macau champion Victorino Torres, Charles “Mr. Macau” Chua, and Asian Poker King Tournament winner Elton Tsang will be making their presence felt. The entire Poker King team, which includes Winfred Yu and Michael Marvanek, will also be playing in the event.
All eyes will be on reigning champion Neil Arce. The Filipino poker pro will attempt to defend his title against a strong field of contenders.
Side events such as Greed, the PKR Battle of Teams event, the FHM MSW Headhunters event, a shoot-out event, and a Pot-Limit Omaha event will definitely keep energy levels high all throughout the week-long festivities.
Due to insistent public demand, APT will have the Ladies of Poker event for the first time on August 26 at 3:00 p.m. This will be headlined by top female players from Asia and around the world. Buy-in is set at only US $90 + US $10.
