Fun in GameZoo goes full swing
The standard score for Super Street Basketball was set at 490 points when GameZoo first opened its doors to the public by November of last year. A month after, kids kept talking about the 56-inch display of Crazy Birds and Plants versus Zombies while ice cream superstar Magnum made it to Ice Cream Catcher’s basket of desserts in February. In a splashy kick-off to summer, meanwhile, kids can play with real water and blast it to an LED screen in Ocean Panic. Sounds like a lot of fun but it’s not going to be all for GameZoo.
The newest arcade facility in the Metro and Resorts World Manila’s answer to a growing demand for an entertainment venue for the whole family pushes “fun” to a higher ground. There on a sunny 4th of May, with the Autobots, Ironman and a group of cosplayers, a 6D Mini Theater, 3 surround sound KTV rooms and 134 gaming machines were officially unveiled in Start: GameZoo’s Grand Launch.

The two-storey funhouse showcased an impressive line-up of fun-filled activities including a free play for everyone on the opening day. Resorts World Manila President Kingson Sian, and Executive Vice President Stephen Reilly formally opened the game park with the help of celebrity couple Aubrey Miles and Troy Montero who with kids, Hunter and Maurie, are regular patrons of GameZoo.
“GameZoo has become our favorite family place here at Resorts World Manila as they have a lot of games that we truly enjoy,” said the actress. “What sets it apart from other arcades also, is that they have a very friendly staff and everything is very hygienic here, and tidiness is very important to me and my kids,” Miles added.
Attendees were also treated to a splendid performance by the children of ‘The Sound of Music’, currently marked by Broadway Asia as the longest running Rodgers and Hammerstein production in Southeast Asia with its record breaking run at the Newport Performing Arts Theatre.

During the 4-hour free play, opening day patrons were given the chance to play with a simulated aquarium in Ocean Star, try the latest version of Air Hockey, groove to a dance machine which includes hand choreography in Passion DSS, ride on a real big bike on an artificial race course in Pop Moto, or hit real targets on a wide screen using an actual ball in Penguin Paradise among many other available gaming attractions. Celebrity couple Aubrey and Troy also watched “Ocean World”, May’s offering in the 6D Mini Theater which is updated monthly.
Now that the start button has been pressed and the fun goes full swing, bring the whole family and try to set your own record in one of the machines. GameZoo is located at the 4th level of the Newport Mall in Resorts World Manila's growing leisure complex.
